This is my first Elite Trainer Box. I ended up getting the Blastoise box and I was pleasantly surprised with everything I got. Before opening, I was worried that the box had been opened previously and possibly contained weighed boosters because of bulges of the cardboard. Opening it up, everything was kind of messed up, but was probably from the box flipping upside down during delivery. The damage counter dice are pretty nice as well as the acrylic status markers. The included card sleeves seem pretty high quality as well. Once emptied, the box can be used as a card holder and is pretty sturdy.
I think a majority of the negative reviews come from people getting bad cards in the boosters and thinking that they are weighed. This isn’t the case for me because I ended up getting a secret rare, full art EX, and rare reverse holo in one pack.
Overall, an Elite Trainer Box is some pretty good bang for your buck. The price per card is less than if you bought the same amount as single boosters and you get a bunch of extras.
Update: The pulls from Evolutions tend to be pretty lackluster. Unfortunately there just aren’t many good cards in the set. Overall, I pulled a full art Mewtwo EX, M Venusaur EX, Starmie BREAK, as well as a reverse holo Charizard. The rare cards in this set are pretty bad, so you may want to pass on this set unless you are in it for the nostalgia (but even that couldn’t cure my disappointment with how bad most of the cards in this set are).

Box came sealed which gave me hope that the contents hadn’t been messed with. Opened the box to find no sleeve on the energy cards, 4 packs were set vertically, 4 horizontally, and the packs were extremely smooth to open. Not to mention there was 5 doubles and one pack had a card that was faced backwards. I’ve never experienced any other box come like this. I believe this box was tampered with and would highly recommend to not purchase this. Only good thing was the on time shipping and delivery.

Who doesn’t enjoy reliving the original Pokemon cards? Well heres your chance to collect the reissued updated cards from base set. The elite boxes are great for starting a collection or playing because it includes everything you will need.

trainer box seemed like it’d been open before. the big die is missing, the booklet was bent and the card packs looked kinda flimsy like they’d been altered. still decent pulls, couple rares, but maybe could of been better if it didnt seem to be tampered with

Great product- my son loves it, however he thought he was receiving both boxes per the picture, so he was seriously bummed when he opened it and found one. Read the product contents folks. Hopefully this review helps others to know what they purchase.

This listing is for the red OR the blue trainer box, you cannot choose on this listing. I personally got the blue Blastoise box, which I’m fine with. If you want to choose, go to a different listing. I’m also seeing people saying they’re getting shady product from this listing, so be especially careful from where you’re buying this.
As for the box, you get what you pay for. For $39.99 (or a bit cheaper, which is why I chose this listing), you get 8 booster packs for Evolutions, a pack of tournament legal dice, a 45 energy card deck, card sleeves, card dividers, and everything else you’d expect from an elite trainer box. I appreciate the collector’s guide that you get especially.
The main selling point is from the booster packs, and the nature of booster packs will always be that you may get amazing cards or complete garbage, and someone getting bad pulls is just a risk you take if you buy this. If you’re looking for specific cards, buying single cards from amazon or tcgplayer.com is always an option. I personally love opening booster packs so the elite trainer boxes are always fun for me.
For the evolutions set, there are a few cards that are really great to pull (mostly the Mega Charizard EX Full Art), but you will also most likely get a lot of copies of fairly common cards, such as Weedle, Tangela, Machop, and Vulpix. Again, if you’re looking for specific cards for a deck you’re building, you’re probably better off buying the single cards separately as opposed to opening boosters.
My notable pulls from this box were a Misty’s Determination Full Art as well as a holo Zapdos and reverse holo Mewtwo. I pulled no EX or Mega cards, which was certainly a bit disappointing but I’m overall happy with my purchase as well. Again, if you’re looking for a specific box (The Charizard one seems to be the most popular), you’re better off going to a different listing or buying it from a local card shop, Wal-Mart, Target, Toys R Us, or whatever. You also greatly reduce the risk of having your box tampered with, which seems to be the unfortunate case for some buyers on this listing. As always, buyer beware.
