Opened a total of two set boosters and was overall super happy with all the cards pulled. Neither of the sets had been tampered with, and both arrived in great condition with no damage to the boxes. In my personal opinion this set will appeal more to those who also play DND such as myself. As a DM and long time player the art and mechanics of this set are awesome. The art cards are fantastic, with some having stat blocks on the back, which I will be also using for DND. Finally the list cards. Got a good variety and was overall happy with these as well. I honestly don’t understand why some people who review can’t do a simple google search of the list cards instead of review bombing because they don’t understand what they are.

–this review will change after the shipment of the ammendment box–

I bought the box for myself and two friends to open and be all giddy about because two of our passions slapped together, why not? The box was unassumingly together, the packs looked properly sealed.

Fun cards, great art, so many new deck theme ideas. Christmas in July Yada Yada. Don’t get me wrong I love this set even if it won’t be big brain meta changing compared to some.

But it felt weird how few rare/mythic cards we pulled altogether… so we counted. Statistically, if an assured 1 per pack is true, I shouldn’t stop counting at 25. Bit of a womp to find that somewhere most of the packs were dry.

I got in touch with a representative and they assured a fix, so let’s see if the second verse is the same as the first. This time with a little closer inspection before and during pack cracking.

    —— Edit——

The second set booster box came in a MUCH different packing. The shipping mailer was the standard Amazon plastic bag vs a flat rate mailer bag-looking bit, the cling wrap around the box had the WoTC logo whereas the first did not, and the packs overall -felt- more together. ((This is a hard thing to describe unless you know what it feels like))

No blemishes on the packing/box/packs, all the cards are counted and accounted for ((not missing a number of the more desirable cards like the first purchase))… definitely just unlucky to have gotten a tampered box the first time around. Overall up to a 4, from a 2, mostly because of the original blemish. Otherwise it’s nice to be able to buy boxes when living in a place you cannot find them within a two hour drive with ((relative)) peace of mind.

    all good

Great set. Maybe not the most resale value amongst cards but just an awesome set full of great cards. I got everything I wanted except a handful of dragons. Even got a few cards from “the list”. Those are reprints from old sets. There’s another reviewer that complained about getting these reprints and I just thought it was hilarious. The packs themselves were in good shape, just a little more airy than others. Other tcgs are having the same small minor problem. I know they were tampered with because a fisher wouldn’t leave Ebondeath and Xanathar in the box.

I had no issues with this set. I was upset that it did not come in an amazon box, but instead had a shipping label stuck to the outside. But other than that it was a great time opening it.

the boosters the pack was perfectly sealed yet the boosters had a lot of air in them, but got pretty rare cards like tiamat, the black planeswalker full art and normal, etc. 10/10 would buy again

I got this box, and the packs do seem to be more inflated than normal boosters. The cards are looser inside, but that is just how they are naturally, not a result of any tampering.

I got cards like Old Gnawbones and the Demonic Tutor list card, so the packs seemed fine.

I found out that my local card shop was running a pre-release draft tournament with this card series. After not playing MTG for several years, this was the perfect opportunity to come back to the game. After opening the draft booster packs from the tournament, I knew I was hooked again and needed to buy a box.

Cards arrived still sealed and no visible damage to the box itself. I enjoyed the artwork and the collab of Magic the Gathering with Dungeons and Dragons. Might buy another box if I catch it on sale, don’t tell my wife…

When I first found Magic, way back in the 90’s I thought it was a great cross over idea for D&D. I didn’t think it would take nearly 30 years to actually put them together.
There are a few cards in here that I was really hoping to get and I got them all in a few boxes of purchases. All of course except for Tiamat. Not even one version of her in three boxes. What the heck Wiz… sheesh. But the cards over all are still darn cool and getting one of the sets of all special cards was worth the money as well. Does my nerdy heart good to have a set of magic that is D&D based. To bad I don’t have anyone left to play with.

I have been out of the MtG sphere for over a decade. The last set I went all-in on was Odyssey to date myself a little. I bought this booster box to crack packs with my cousin, who DMs and has been following Magic since we were kids. We both found the hybridization of D&D and MtG to be an overdue but welcome surprise. The set blends the creatures and lore from D&D with MtG rules and even brings new things to the table. We got a kick out of the throwback D&D manual cards and became giddy when uncovering awesome legendary creatures, such as Xanathar. As usual, the art is fantastic. I am new to the concept of art cards, but I’m onboard! This booster box was a great reintroduction to MtG and I would recommend it for anyone who can afford the price tag.
